We often hear that prayer doesn’t cost anything. This is not true.

Intercession is costly. It is not merely mentioning someone in passing — it is an investment of time, one of the most precious resources we have. Prayer also costs us our expectations; instead of viewing a situation through our own lens, we learn to see people and circumstances through the truth of God’s Word. As we spend time in Scripture and seek God’s face at the throne of grace, He shapes our hearts to respond with His compassion and His perspective.

• For protection from spiritual attack

• For encouragement and clarity in the calling

• For strength to do the daily tasks at hand

• For wisdom and direction from the Holy Spirit
