What the Scott Family Ministry is Doing

Serving Families with Rest and Renewal

The Scott Family provides, through pastoral recommendation, an expense‑free retreat for missionaries on furlough and for families in need of rest. They also offer accommodations for vacationing families who desire to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and step away for a time of renewal. Day trips are also available for those who simply need a quiet place to pause and be refreshed.

They currently offer peaceful tent‑camping sites for those seeking a quiet, private retreat, and secluded cabins are in the building process. As God provides, these cabins will offer dedicated spaces for rest, reflection, and spiritual refreshment.

Guests can enjoy hiking and biking trails, fishing, kayaking, and the simple stillness of the land. If you are interested in visiting the retreat or sponsoring a stay for someone in need, the Scotts would be glad to connect with you.

Training for the Journey

There are many practical needs on the mission field, and several ways to help meet them. Whether equipping missionaries, preparing God’s people for short‑term teams, or simply strengthening believers with skills useful in everyday life, the vision is to provide a training facility where hands‑on instruction gives people a basic, working understanding of practical skills that support the work of ministry and help keep missionaries on the field.

Training areas include:

• Basic auto and small‑engine maintenance and repair

• Generator and water‑pump operation

• Basic welding

• Alternative energies, including solar and gasification

• Basic building skills: carpentry, concrete, masonry, electrical, and plumbing

• Emergency medical first‑aid, self‑awareness, and self-defence

• Gardening and livestock management

Where Preparation Becomes Practice

As this training ministry continues to take shape, the Scotts have begun hosting workdays and instructional workshops throughout the year. These early gatherings have included preparing future cabin sites, learning practical skills together, and serving side‑by‑side as a community. They represent the beginnings of the hands‑on training the Scotts desire to offer more fully in the future. Additional workshops are planned, and a collection of past workshop videos is available below for those who would like to learn more.

Partnering as God Leads

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

The Scott Family desires to follow God faithfully in the work He has entrusted to them, trusting Him to provide every resource and every helping hand in His timing. They rely on the Lord to move the hearts of His people, knowing that any support given is first directed by Him. If God leads you to pray, to meet a need, or to come alongside this ministry in a practical way, your obedience will bless the Scotts and minister to those who come here to be refreshed and equipped.
